A long range CCTV camera is not just a standard security camera with a zoom lens. It integrates high-power telephoto optics, advanced image stabilization, and often laser or IR illumination to deliver identifiable details at distances exceeding 100 meters. Unlike ordinary IP cameras that blur beyond 30 meters, these systems are engineered for perimeters, parking lots, and open industrial sites. The core advantage is proactive surveillance: you detect a threat while it is still approaching, not after it has already breached the perimeter.

To achieve this, modern units rely on a combination of motorized zoom lenses (often 10x to 40x), large image sensors (like 1/1.8-inch), and intelligent algorithms that cut through haze or low light.
